ARMY OF ANYONE Performs FILTER's 'Take A Picture' On Q101: Audio Available
September 24, 2006ARMY OF ANYONE performed an acoustic version of FILTER's "Take a Picture" Friday (Sept. 22) on the Chicago radio station Q101. An MP3 of the performance is available for download at www.thearmyofanyone.com/smf/.
As previously reported, several photos from ARMY OF ANYONE's first-ever performance, which took place Wednesday, September 20 at Solera in Minneapolis, Minnesota, have been posted online at RayLuzier.com. The band, which features FILTER frontman Richard Patrick on vocals, ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS members Robert DeLeo on bass and Dean DeLeo on guitar, will release its self-titled debut album on November 14 and embark on a promotional radio tour from October 4 until the record's arrival, according to Launch Radio Networks.
ARMY OF ANYONE will go on a full U.S. tour later this fall, but Patrick has gotten a head start by jamming with KORN and FLYLEAF at a couple of Family Values shows. He told Launch about performing the FILTER hit "Hey Man, Nice Shot" with KORN. "Jonathan (Davis, vocalist) and the guys from KORN, I mean, just to be able to go out and just kind of hang out with their audience, and their crowd was so receptive and so wonderful and it was just, like...it was a nice little nudge for my self-esteem 'cause it's been a little while I've been out playing," he said. "20,000 people screaming 'Hey man, nice shot' back at you, you know, and everyone knew it, and it was just really exciting to be back out singing."
ARMY OF ANYONE is rounded out by ex-DAVID LEE ROTH drummer Ray Luzier.
The CD's first single is called "Goodbye". The band shot a video for the song last month in Los Angeles.
